The speaker invited for this event was the young and dynamic climate activist Mr. Ajay Mittal, Director, India and South Asia (Climate Change Programs) for Earth Day Network. The talk was held on the virtual platform of Google Meet and attended by very enthusiastic participants from the faculty as well as from the student body.
The talk started with the welcome note by faculty member Shreya Bhattacharya followed by an interesting lecture by the speaker. Mr. Mittal simply defined and explained the environmental concerns that have been the focal point of much deliberations since the last few decades. Such issues have become glaringly global and innately conspicuous in the pandemic times. Along with Covid 19 and its myriad consequences, one must not lose sight of the lasting impact of global climate change and certain vector borne diseases especially Dengue that require immediate attention.
