The outreach activity aims to highlight that education and independent thought are the most effective means of breaking down “narrow domestic walls”. In the light of this a health check-up camp was organised by the Department of Chemistry, The Bhawanipur Education Society College, Kolkata for all students of Polgustia Board Primary School, Polgustia, West Bengal 711414 on 20.05.2022. For setting up the medical camp our department collaborated with two Paediatricians (Dr. Argha Rajbanshi and Dr. Sabarna Sham). The two said Doctors took part in this programme and emphasized to the parents of the studentsthe necessity for their health and hygiene. The doctors also emphasized the need for taking physical exercise daily. Also, the Doctors also focused on the need for keeping oneself clean and on keeping hands cleaned and washed. Our college provided medicines as per requirement for the school students. The College contributed stationery, sweets, fruits, items for daily use for the students. Our college students and also the teachers and support staff had the opportunity to interact with the school students for the entire day, which they did with great zeal and enthusiasm. The students of the primary school presented a short cultural programme which was a showcase of their individual talents.
The college emphasizes that in creating awareness lies the true essence of education itself. It was a proud moment for the students and teachers of the Department.
Professor Dilip Shah, Dean of Student affairs of the Bhawanipur Education Society College formally declared the games open as 88 participants who had toiled to reach the finals stood in rapt attention, their minds and calculators in sync on the 4th of September’17.
