• Dr. Priyatosh Dutta, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Anandamohan College.
• Dr. Rahul Sharma, Assistant Professor, Department of Chemistry, St. Xavier’s College.
6. No. of Participants: 38 external teachers from various undergraduate colleges under University Calcutta and 20 teachers from our college attended this workshop.
7. Objective of the event: The aim of the workshop was to discuss the syllabus, content for teaching and probable question answer pattern for Semester-II students under CCF curriculum to the Chemistry Fraternity where the Advance Computer based topic is less popular and discussed.
8. Brief description of the event: The inauguration of this workshop commenced with a welcome address by Dr. Sugata Samanta, Coordinator, The Bhawanipur Education Society College. He addressed all the dignitaries, speakers, participants, and everyone associated with this workshop on ‘AI for Everyone’. Dr. Samir Kanti Dutta, Dean of Science, The BES college highlighted the significance of Artificial intelligence in Calcutta University (CU) Semester- II CCF syllabus of Chemistry and its relevance in the era of high-performance of computing. Dr. Pinki Saha Sardar, Vice Principal, Science, Convener, The BES college delivered a speech on the importance of the Artificial intelligence in the developing country like India as well as in the World. The ceremony was graced by Dr. Sharmila Bhattacharya, Associate Professor, Department of Chemistry, Vidyasagar College, Working Member, PCTF, who delivered a speech on the development and various activities of PCTF along with the importance of AI in the under graduate curriculum.
The first speaker of the day, Mr. Akash Mehta, discussed the history and basics of Artificial intelligence (AI). Then Dr. Priyatosh Dutta, delivered the lecture on the topic, Module I of SEC Syllabus of Semester-II. In the second half of the Day Dr. Rahul Sharma, delivered the topic, Module II and III of SEC Syllabus of Semester-II. The session was ended at 04.00 PM. Discussion on probable MCQs was carried out by Dr. Priyatosh Dutta. The programme was ended with a Vote of Thanks by Prof. Ambikesh Mahapatra, Professor, Department of Chemistry, Jadavpur University, Convenor, PCTF.
9. Outcome of the event: The workshop effectively clarified the basics of artificial intelligence, and the program included interesting lecture of the speakers. Participant’s feedback revealed a considerable rise in their confidence and interest in AI. The program created a cooperative learning atmosphere. All things considered that the workshop succeeded in democratizing AI education.
