“In order to become rich you don’t have to work hard, you have to make your money work hard, Allow it to work 24*7”, this phrase coined the Workshop on Nuggets of Financial Wisdom by Prof. Parimal Merchant.
A day long workshop with more than 100 enthusiastic participants from all ages contributing to the success of the workshop. Prof Merchant spoke on ”MONEY”, the heart of money being ONE once we value it, the extreme alphabets come together and it becomes MY . He explained the same with real life example on how our liabilities increase our expenses (buying an expensive phone on EMI) rather than creating asset and income (buying a normal phone and investing the balance on something which increases our income like buying a rickshaw and putting it on rent).
Respect Money its Lakshmi, welcome it, don’t burn it, treat it like a family member, discuss about it, keep track of it put it at work not idle in the bank account, cultivate the essence of entrepreneurship. To explain he conducted an auction with Rs.100/- and earned Rs.400/- on it. Also, how a person with Rs.1500/- as his salary can earn Rs.10 million (approx.) after 40 years by investing just 20% of his monthly income rather than keeping it uselessly in his saving account, emphasizing on the Power of Cumulation.
Prof. Merchant accentuated the importance of financial independence and building wealth through Warren Buffet’s ideology and the book Rich Dad Poor Dad written by Robert Kiyosaki. He explained the various Rules for handling Money and making it your most powerful asset. Fear, laziness, cynicism and arrogance are to be blamed for most of human inaction. Thus, in today’s time promoting Financial Literacy is a crucial social work, do it as well as you can.
