Objective of the event: To empower differently-abled beneficiaries by equipping them with a valuable skill, while promoting environmental consciousness through the use of recycled materials.
Brief description of the event: On May 18, 2024, the National Service Scheme (NSS) volunteers organized a candle-making workshop at Mahavir Seva Sadan. The workshop aimed to empower the differently abled beneficiaries by imparting a valuable skill while promoting environmental consciousness using recycled materials. The workshop emphasized sustainability by utilizing recycled materials for candle making. By repurposing items that would otherwise go to waste, the volunteers demonstrated their commitment to environmental awareness. The beneficiaries actively participated in the workshop, learning the art of candle making. This engagement not only provided them with a new skill but also fostered a sense of accomplishment and inclusion. Through this initiative, NSS volunteers contributed to social rehabilitation. By empowering the differently abled individuals, they promoted their integration into society and encouraged self-reliance.
Outcome of the event: The initiative helped foster a sense of accomplishment and inclusion among participants, contributing to their social rehabilitation and encouraging self-reliance.
