From Albert Einstein to Steve Jobs, the world’s greatest leaders and artists have shared their musings on creativity.
16th October 2023, a usual Monday morning at The Bhawanipur Education Society College became no less than Shakespeare’s “All the World’s a Stage”, with yet another Open Mic event in the college canteen at 11:00am and went on till 4.00pm.
With a crowd full of youthful enthusiasm, the hosts of the day, Kasis Shaw and Raghav Agarwal ushered the students to the beginning of the event. This event was a long-awaited call for all the secret superstars of the college including the bathroom singers, romantic shayars, rappers, budding authors, or mirror anchors, this event offered an open space while providing the liberty of language and expressions which embraced sessions on stand-up comedy, solo vocals ranging from the melodies of classical music to the dynamic rhythms of rock, raps, poems & musings, ghazals, shayaris, short stories, life incidents & personal experiences including mono acts.
As the event paced forward Open Mic’ 23 saw ever-increasing audiences and willing participants, and the event saw a shift in venue to the College Turf. In between the event, Prof. Dilip Shah, the Rector & Dean of Student Affairs along with Prof. Minakshi Chaturvedi, Coordinator B. Com Morning were requested to honour the stage and announce the winners of the photography contest, ‘Life in Lines’ held in the college campus in the month of September between 25th-30th. Along with this Certificates of Appreciation were also awarded to the Best Reporters & Photographers of the Expressions Collective as announced by Ms. Samiksha Khanduri, from the Dean’s Office. The event was wrapped up with a short and warm speech which encouraged students to participate in more such creative events. Towards the end, as per the custom, the students cheered the BESC ritual, “HEY BESC!!” and the crowd shouted, “WHAT’S UP!?”
