“The true spirit of sportsmanship is not just about winning, but about the dedication, perseverance, and teamwork that goes into achieving a winner’s spirit. It was in this spirit of celebrating and recognizing the dedication of achievers in the field of sports that The Bhawanipur Education Society College organized a Sports and Athletics felicitation meet ‘Rings of Hope’ on 20th August 2023 in the college. The felicitation celebrated the accomplishments of the incredible students who through sheer hard work and talent won laurels in their respective arenas of sports.
The event kicked off with an inspiring speech from the sports officer of Calcutta University and the Chief guest for the event Dr. Aminul Haque who along with the Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah congratulated the players and teams for their incredible achievements. As the names of almost 150 achievers in over 15 different sports were taken, they all took to the stage and were felicitated by Dr. Aminul Haque, the Chief Guest, Chairman of the college, Shri Rajnikant Dani, members of the management Sri Pradip Sheth, Sri Jitu Shah, Sri Umesh Thacker, Smt. Nalini Parekh, Prof. Dilip Shah, and the coaches of the various sports teams. The awards were of three categories, a Khel Ratna Award for achievers at the National and International level medals and certificates for achievers at the University level, and inter and intra-college levels.
The prestigious Khel Ratan was awarded to Prapti Sen, B.A. 3rd Year student for exhibiting exceptional skills and commitment to the sport of Table Tennis during the year 2021-22. And for the year 2022-23 was awarded to Koushiki Dasgupta, MA 1st Year student, Anushka Basak, BA 3rd Year student, Kankana Auddy of B.COM 3rd Year, Sammridhi Banik, BA 1st Year student, all four students for the sports Table Tennis and Umang Jaiswal, B.COM 3rd Year student for showing exceptional prowess in Power Lifting.
Right before the end of the ceremony, all the captains of the teams were called upon the stage and were felicitated with medals and certificates as well. The event concluded with a vote of thanks by Mr. Umesh Thacker, from the Management; Mr. Bhavin Parmar & Mr. Rupesh Gandhi, Sports Officer, and Mr. Tathagata Sen. (English Department). All blessed the students and witnessed this milestone in their lives. A few ex–students were also present to cheer up the awardees.
The Department of Political Science organised a field trip to Netaji Bhawan for the students of Semester IV on 5th April, 2023. A total of 55 students accompanied by 5 teachers visited the ancestral house of Netaji Subhas Chandra Bose that has been converted into a museum under the aegis of the Netaji Research Bureau …
The ‘Bull’s Eye Collective’ induction was organised at the 6th floor’s Concept Hallon 23rd August.The induction was attended by more than 100 students.The event started off with a welcome address presented by the Collective’s student coordinatorAyushAgarwal.
Communique 2014 was an inter-college academic meet which allowed showcasing the talent of students in events like debate, extempore, quiz, etc. The event brought together students from various colleges like Shri Shikshayatan College, Ashutosh College, JDBI College, Goenka College, THK Jain College, Shyamaprasad College, Jagdish Chandra College, Dept of Law CU and many more.
Umang’14’s Visual Extempore is definitely not a regular extempore. If extempore demands thinking on your feet, visual extempore seeks thrice the effort and ability.
