Jubilee Hall, 14th Jan, 2020: With the goal to enlighten the students about the workings of GDP, the Bhawanipur Education Society College organized a seminar on “Understanding GDP and its implications” which was undertaken by Mr. Rajeev Poddar, an economics teacher, a stock market trader and an inspiration to many. Crossing all the hurdles which life set up for him, he has successfully founded “Knowledge Capsule”, a program that helps students in being at par with Current Affairs.
The seminar commenced with Prof. Dilip Shah, the Dean of student affairs of BESC, introducing the speaker to the audience members present. He then explained the concepts of GDP and spoke about the implications it holds on the economy of a country.
The session started with Mr. Rajeev Poddar introducing the gross domestic product (GDP) as one of the main indicators used to measure the performance of a country’s economy and spoke of the factors that affect the GDP of India. He highlighted the various aspects of the economy and revealed how the entertainment industry has taken over the market all around the globe. He also spoke about how technology is dominating the knowledge sector.
The seminar was concluded with Prof. Dilip Shah presenting token of appreciation to the speaker and addressing the crowd.
In order to maintain social distancing and to keep the student’s productive and to bring their boredom down, the ART IN ME collective of The Bhawanipur Education society College organised an online competition on the topic Quarantine (lockdown).
