38 students from Semester I & III of B.Com, accompanied by 6 faculty members, embarked on an educational visit to Thacker Dairy, Kalyani Unit. The industrial trip aimed to familiarize the students with various aspects of cattle farming, including animal rearing, milk production, and management.
During the visit, students gained insights into the dairy industry’s diverse products, such as ice cream, paneer, milk, sweet curd, and flavoured milk. The tour guided them through the entire production process, from the freezing room to packaging rooms, providing a firsthand experience and fostering practical understanding.
The students learned about the company’s product range, production methods, labeling, packaging, promotions, advertising, as well as the processes involved in transportation and sales. Additionally, they were introduced to the company’s cashew nut processing unit.
The visit proved to be interactive and informative, offering students valuable knowledge that aligns with real-world industrial practices. This exposure is expected to contribute to their readiness for the corporate world. To express gratitude, a memento was presented to Dr. K.C. Mohanty, the Director of the company.
