An Industrial Visit was organised by the Department of Commerce (Afternoon and Evening Section) on the 18th February, 2023 for the students (Semester I) at the Diamond Beverage Pvt. Ltd. (Coca-Cola), Taratala, Budge Budge, Kolkata, West Bengal. The bus left the college campus with a total of 27 students and 5 faculty members and reached the plant by 11:15 am. After reaching, an introductory session was conducted by Mr. Indranil Dutta (Production personnel, HR department) and he presented the company’s insight in a nutshell such as:
• An insight into the historical background of Coca Cola.
• Products and worldwide sales channel of Coca-Cola.
• Quality Standards maintained.
• Various Certifications acquired (ISO 9001, ISO 14000, ISO 50000).
• Production process & maintenance.
Then, all were taken to the production unit accompanied by Mr. Dutta along with his team and they explained how the production process works through pasteurization, carbon filtering, RO & UV treatment of water. Furthermore, the team showed some videos relating to quality control & testing.
The industrial visit to Diamond Beverage Pvt. Ltd. was an enthralling experience for students in getting live exposure to the industry & manufacturing process which can help them in their future career growth. The visit ended with an interactive session where all the questions of the students and faculties were duly answered by the production personnel and quality control experts. A token of appreciation in the form of a memento was presented from The Bhawanipur Education Society College to the plant’s production personnel, Mr. Indranil Dutta.
