Indian Institute Of Management-Calcutta recently organised its cultural fest “CARPE DIEM ‘16”.It’s one of the best cultural fest organised by an institute in the whole country. Our college was invited for the fest and we participated in different events and once again proved that we have the best participants in almost every event we participated.
The fest was inaugurated by “Dr. Shashi Tharoor” as the key note speaker on the first day which was followed by a cultural dance known as “Chau Dance”, a comedy session by one of the best comedians of the country “Biswa & Kaneez” And the day ended with the performance of a renowned band “Parikrama”.
Then came the second day of the fest the first day of judgement of the participants from all over the country. All set to give their best and win as many prizes they could for their college. Our debate team comprised of Anant Gupta and Kalicharan Shaw, who were the first one to start the winning streak. Defeating the home team was a great motivation for the other participants and all wanted to win. The next win for the day was followed by the Fashion Team as they stood 2nd in Fashion Show. The participants had worked very hard and deserved the prize. The day was concluded with the performance of one of the popular band in the country “The Raghu Dixit Project”.
The third day of the fest and the final day of judgement seemed to be tough as the participants had increased and the competition was tougher compared to the previous day. However the participants were determined to continue the winning streak. And they did start the day by qualifying to the finals of solo dance and duet dance. The street play team stood 2nd, Ayushi Singh stood 2nd in solo dance, Aman Nagar and Ayushi Singh stood 3rd in duet dance. The dance team BDC (Bhawanipur Dance Crew) stood 1st in the group dance event EUPHORIA as well as HHI (Hip Hop International) regional qualifiers and were selected for the nationals in Mumbai or Goa.
