The Department of Computer Science of The Bhawanipur Education Society College organised a One-Day Seminar on Implementation of NEP In B.Sc. Computer Science, on 1st July 2023, jointly with Council for Undergraduate Studies & Undergraduate Board of Studies in Computer Science, University of Calcutta, in collaboration with IQAC, The Bhawanipur Education Society College. The Seminar was convened by Mr. Sanjib Halder. The Seminar was attended by participants, hailing from different colleges under the University of Calcutta. The event began with the Teacher-in-Charge of the Bhawanipur Education Society College, welcoming all the distinguished guests and members of the Board of Studies of B.Sc. Computer Science. Dr. Amlan Chakrabarti reiterated the need for organising a Seminar on NEP-2020 for the benefit of the teachers. He appreciated the initiative taken by the Bhawanipur Education Society College, and emphasized the need of organizing more such events. The distinguished speaker for the event was Dr. Amit Kumar Das – Chief technology Officer, AchieveX Solutions Pvt. Ltd. He enlightened the various guests about the applications of AI in todays world. Dr. Amit Kumar Das also described the various aspects of the topic AI for All, which will be taught as a common paper in the new syllabus. The members of the BOS then displayed the proposed syllabus for B.Sc. Computer Science under the NEP-2020 scheme. The went on to elaborate the various aspects of the new syllabus. They discussed the marks distribution along with the number of credit hours allotted to each paper. The BOS introduced new papers on modern cutting-edge technologies in the syllabus. The BOS then emphasized the need of summer internships for the students, so as to prepare them for the industry. The Computer Science teachers of the different colleges also got an opportunity to present their views and express their concerns on the new policy. The Seminar then ended with Mr. Sanjib Halder of the Department of Computer Science, giving a vote of thanks to the BOS members and the resource person.

BPLT – Bhawanipur Premier League Tournament, inaugurated on 17th February, 2017 witnessed90 teams and 540 students registering for the Tournament.
