Objective of the event: The objective of an Academic quiz is to create a stimulating and educational experience that tests participant’s knowledge, promotes learning, fosters critical thinking, and cultivates a passion for academic pursuits.
Brief description of the event: The Department of Political Science conducted an Academic Quiz for the Semester 1 Political Science Major students of the Department on 21st September, 2023. The students were divided into 6 groups and questions were asked based on their academic syllabus. The proceedings of the quiz were conducted by Dr. Dona Ganguly, Assistant Professor, Department of Political Science and Prof. Tanusree Arora, CWTT, Department of Political Science. She explained the parameters of the quiz on which the groups would be judged and awarded scores. The event also awarded those individual students who answered maximum questions on behalf of their respective groups with an extra score.
Group A scored the highest and was declared the Best Group and Sushoma Sinha from Group B was declared the Best Individual Performer.
Outcome of the event: The outcome of the quiz was based on the students feedback which was quite positive. The students highly appreciated the efforts of the department to conduct such a quiz that further enhanced their knowledge and critically answering skill. The event encouraged more active participation in classes through healthy competition among the groups.
