How do you separate yourself from the crowd? How do you survive in the market place of jobs? The answers to such intriguing questions of the students were discussed at the seminar RULESOF THE GAME presented by YUVA on 12th February ’15. The seminar was attended by the students of APTECH, NIT, JDBI (B.Sc) and Praxis Business SCHOOL.
The leadership seminar was conducted by Sumit D. Chowdhury, the author of the book, The Rules of the Game and the president of Reliance Jio Infocom Ltd. He unlighted the students by sharing the solutions to all the difficulties that they face while they strive to emerge as a leader. He gave his views on the current job situation where everyone is struggling to win the rat race. He also reflected upon the ways to break through any barriers that come in front of us. The students were encouraged to hear that a start up is never too small; we just need the zeal to bring out the best from within ourselves. “Your only competitor should be yourself and you should always make efforts to meet or beat your own goals consistently,” said Mr. Chowdhury. He apprised that we should understand the long term consequences of every action that we take now. Other essential learning that benefitted the students are:
Review your goals every day.
Keep control over: ACTION, REACTION and THOUHGHT
Always DISCOVER, LEARN and INVENT
Be a POSSIBILITARIAN. It will make you successful.
Never say NO. Instead say: YES… HOWEVER.
Never under estimate the enormous impact you have,
Take responsibities and lead yourself.
Self confidence is the seed of success
The impactful speech was followed by an interactive session between Mr, Chowdhury and the students. The students were inspired by this thought provoking seminar and surely the influence of this session will stay with them beyond the boundaries of space and time. The session ended with a vote of thanks by Prof.Dilip Shah. The seminar was highly appreciated by the student of the guest colleges and they would love to participate in more such sessions.
