Time: 8:00 am – 4:00 pm Venue: Keoratala Basanabala Girls High School
As Brigham Young rightly said, “You educate a man; you educate a man. You educate a woman; you educate a generation.” To develop compassion in the hearts of the students and instill the importance of giving back to society, as a part of their commemoration of International Women’s Day this year, the students of The Bhawanipur Education Society College organized a donation drive.
In anticipation of the onset of the festival of colors, the college is dedicated to extending assistance and support to underprivileged children who yearn for affection and joy. On the occasion of International Women’s Day, Ms. Gargi, the NSS teacher coordinator, and Mr. Chandan, accompanied by six volunteers, visited Keoratala Basanabala Girls High School.
Commencing at 8 o’clock in the morning, the journey spanned three hours until their arrival at 11 am to the school. The students greeted them warmly, adorning them with flowers and offering refreshing coconut water. The proceedings commenced with Ms. Gargi providing an introduction to the significance of women’s hygiene and health. A poignant poem was recited by student volunteer Shweta Hiya, who also elaborated on women’s rights. Athin and Alka discussed the importance of women’s sports and their requisites. Kripa shed light on the significance of women’s hygiene, elaborating on the usage of various hygiene products. Komal tackled the topic of maintaining women’s health, while Ayush and Alefiyah elucidated the benefits of yoga for women. The entire session was interactive, and the children’s smiles provided much-needed affirmation. Followed by a delightful performance by the school students.
The volunteers distributed bags and geometry boxes to the students. Together, the volunteers and children engaged in a playful celebration of Holi. The school graciously provided lunch for the teachers and volunteers, creating a warm and homely atmosphere. As the time to bid farewell arrived, they departed with cherished memories and a sense of affection.
