March 18th, 2019. Placement Hall. The International Society for Krishna Consciousness (ISKCON) was started in 1966 in New York City and is a Gaudiya Vaishnava Hindu Religious organisation. Members of the ISKCON visited the Bhawanipur Education Society College (BESC) and were felicitated by Prof Dilip Shah, the Dean of Student Affairs of the College.
Prabhu Radha Vallabh das and Prabhu Ananta Bhagawan Das talked at length about a number of issues that challenge the basic tenets of living in harmony with the supreme being, especially issues facing the youth, who are now being increasingly drawn towards a path that promises to lead them astray.
Designed and Coordinated by BESC faculty member Prof Sumitra Dudani, the event then morphed into a session on Richer Reader. In a highly fulfilling interactive session students laid bare the teachings of the book Life’s Amazing Secrets. Written in a manner that is most lucid, the Book is amazing in its content – explaining concepts that are related to the very basics of our being and answering questions that have irked the thinkers since time immemorial. What added to the discourse was the inputs provided by their graces Radha Vallabh and Ananta Bhagawan who made it a point to explain to the young and restless with the serene calmness of their beings.
The students who had attended the session went out transformed, having partaken in the nectar of divine knowledge. The visiting monks too where happy, having interacted with the generation next and expressed their deep gratitude to the college for providing them with the unique opportunity of reaching out to the youngsters, the future. What was most remarkable, however, was the number of students who had attended the discourse and were ready, despite their relatively young ages, to participate in discussions of such esoteric matters.
