The NSS unit of The Bhawanipur Education Society College started an initiative called ‘Project Water Bowl’ which took place on 22nd May, 2023 and would be conducted each month throughout the year. The idea was to place pots in different locations in Kolkata. The thought behind this initiative was the increasing heat which makes it very difficult for stray animals and birds to survive without water. We extend our sincerest appreciation to Ms. Manasvi Panchamia from St. Xavier’s Autonomous College for her incredible generosity of donating 40 pots for this initiative.
Under the project, the NSS volunteers have placed water pots in various locations across the city. The objective is to provide a continuous source of safe drinking water to stray animals and birds in need. The NSS volunteers have made a pledge to actively maintain and monitor these water pots to ensure they serve their purpose effectively. Over the course of one year, this initiative aims to make a positive impact on the surroundings for stray animals and birds by providing them with a reliable and accessible source of water.
All the volunteers have embraced the opportunity to actively contribute to the Project. And special mention to the student coordinator of this event, Trishita Rai for her outstanding leadership. Let’s work hand in hand to create a compassionate and sustainable future for all living beings.
