Quoting the famous Marianne Wilson “Every ending is a new beginning”, a convocation holds the same meaning for Be-ites. Nothing can match the thrill of returning to college, meeting old friends, gushing through the corridors – reminiscing old days and getting rewarded for the hard work one puts in throughout college life.
The Graduation Felicitation ceremony was held with full solemnity on the 20th and 21st of April 2023 at The Bhawanipur Education Society College. The BESC, since its very inception has charted its own path in its quest for excellence in creating a distinct niche for itself in the nation’s academic consciousness. Keeping the vision in mind the college hosted the event at the Concept Hall and Jubilee Hall of the college simultaneously felicitating first-division graduates from B.Com-2521, B.Sc-204, BBA-163, B.A-352 and 63 from the Post-graduating courses MA & M.Com.

The students were seated in their respective seats while a video of the felicitation ceremony of the previous year was being played, taking them on a nostalgic road of memories. This was followed by the dignitaries and teachers walking down the aisle and taking front-row seats while the students rose in respect. The Anchor of the Convocation ceremony were Tushitaa, Vaishnavi, Laveena, Aatikah, Shahnaz, Srishti, Sakshi, Marveena who warmly welcomed everyone present and requested them to be witnesses of the cultural performances by Flames and Crescendo collectives of the college. The Dean of Student Affairs, Prof. Dilip Shah initiated the Convocation ceremony with his moving words, conveying to the students how this three-year journey, must have started like that of a caterpillar only to turn them into a beautiful butterfly. He told the students how they have become ambassadors of the college and that wherever they go in life, they will carry the name of the college with them. Further, he concluded that if they keep God as their partner in life, then any endeavour they pursue will assure success.
Thereafter the Oath of the students was administered by the head of the department, saying, “I pledge to use my knowledge, experience, and skill to the best of my ability and for the well-being of humanity. I will conduct myself responsibly and shall respect the right and opinions and dignity of all. I will be a loyal ambassador for my alumna matters and will seek to maintain and enhance its reputation in all my dealings. I will endeavour to be known as a person of honour and will repute ever seeking to earn the piece of good conscience”.
Soon after, the graduating students came clad in Graduation robes one after the other and were felicitated with a medal, a scroll, and a congratulatory handshake, which was followed by a smile and a picture with our Chief Guests. At the end of the ceremony, Prof. Dilip Shah said he will not bid goodbye to them on their farewell, rather he said “Aaojo” which means ‘come again’, in Gujarati. He said that their relationship with the college will always remain as, “Once a Be- ites always a Be- ite .” Once everyone was felicitated the most awaited part of the ceremony came, as the students were asked to toss their hats on the third “hip, hip” and here’s how it went: “Hip, hip,….Hurray !”
Hats were seen flying overhead representing the proud, happy, deserving graduates and Postgraduates from The Bhawanipur Education Society College, Class of 2022. Flaunting their degrees in hand and with lighted-up faces they walked out of the campus & it was indeed a sight to behold!
