The industrial trip to Falta, (SPZ) Linc Pen & Plastics Ltd (LINC.BO) was organized by the Commerce Plus students of The Bhawanipur Education Society College. The journey commenced at 8:00 a.m. on the 22nd of August 2015.
While on the way the students were treated to the delight of the luscious picturesque beauties of the Bengal country side, they also saw several industrial conglomerates like Hada Textile and Paharpur cooling , while travelling to their destination via Dimond Harbor Road.
Upon arrival at the SPZ at 10:25 P.M. the 33 students accompanied by professors , Prof. Vijay Kothari & Prof. Divyesh Shah , toured the Linc pen’s factory and witnessed several key manufacturing processes of the pens.
The Linc Group was founded by Mr. S.M. Jalan, the present Chairman of the Group, in the mid-1970s. Over the last three decades of its existence, Linc has established itself as one of the market leaders in the Writing Instrument Industry of India. Linc is a public limited company and is listed at BSE and CSE. A premier manufacturer and exporter of quality writing instruments, the organization has manufacturing facilities at Kolkata and Goa.
To meet the needs of the highly demanding and discerning buyers in the domestic market, Linc has associated itself with Mitsubishi Pencil Co., Japan in 1992 in a strategic collaboration for their Uni-ball range. Linc products are targeted primarily at the mass markets, schools and offices. Economically priced to allow better value for the retailers, the products are unique in their price-to-performance ratio.
They manufacture all the parts relating to pens inside there Falta factory excepting steel pen tips which they import from korea
Finally after an informative tour of the factory, the students assembled for an interactive session with the co-owners of Linc pens Ms. Ekta Jalan & Ms. Divya Jalan granddaughter’s of Mr Jalan.
After clarifying the doubts and answering to the various queries of the students, the dignitaries from the factory bid farewell and the student’s left for the return journey to the college after a knowledgeable session.
Self Defence – the ability to ward off attackers and defend one from physical and mental harm was the topic of a workshop held in the Turf on the 6th and the 7th of September, 2017.
The NSS unit of the college organized a walk which was led by Mr. Rangan Dutta, a historian and heritage enthusiast. This walk was on 25thMarch 2015. It began at 7:15am, where 31 students were accompanied by Prof. Dilip Shah and Prof. Soumendra Laha.
