Details of Poster Competition
Number of Students Participated in this competition – 34
Competition Details – Each of the departments on their own evaluation sent two posters to the committee. 12 posters were displayed in the corridor on the event day and one student from each group presented their poster in ICT mode in presence of the audience and judges. The presentation time was five minutes.

Number of Students Participated in this competition – 24
Competition Details – Each department selected a group of four students who took part in the competition. This was a 3 round competition with elimination in each round.
Senior faculty members of different Science departments awarded the prizes to the winners, First-Runner up and Second-Runner-up of the two competitions with memento and certificates. Winner of the Quiz Competition was given a rolling trophy made of brass which the respective department will keep for one year, until the next National Science Day(NSD).

Summary of the event
To celebrate the National Science Day that marks the discovery of the Raman Effect by Sir C. V. Raman, Science Section of The Bhawanipur Education Society College organized a quiz and poster presentation competition amongst the students of Science Departments on Feb 28, 2022. This event was organized by the Seminar/Workshop/FDP committee of the Science Section. The convenor of this event was Dr. Yeasin Sikdar and Ms. Shawni Dutta, Co-ordinators of Seminar/Workshop/FDP committee of the Science Section. It was a day-long event that began at around 12.30 PM with the welcome address by Dr. Subhabrata Ganguly, Teacher-in-Charge of the College and speeches by Dr. Pinki Saha Sardar, Vice-Principal, Science and Administration; Dr. Samir. Kanti Dutta, Dean of Science; Prof. Samir Kumar Bandopadhyay, Research Advisor and Prof. Dilip Shah, Dean of Students Affairs of the College. The dignitaries explained the significance of National Science Day. Dr. S. K. Dutta emphasized on the necessity of opting Basic Sciences as a career option over technical fields. This was followed by the opening song sung by a student of Economics. Following his performance, students of the Science Section started presenting the posters. Dr. Samir. Kanti Dutta, Prof. Samir Kumar Bandopadhyay and Dr. Anup Sikdar were the Experts for this session. Altogether 12 students, 6 from each of Semester IV and VI, presented the posters on several topics some of which are the followings: Past glory of Indian Science, Women in Indian Science, Role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in Science and Technology, Cutting edge innovation of Science and Technology. The quiz competition, hosted by Mr. Utsab Mukherjee, began at 3.00 PM in which students of 6 departments of the science section took part. After the three rounds of the sessions, the Department of Physics won the competition. The same department bagged the champion’s trophy by winning the poster presentation as well. The event ended at around 5.00 PM with great success.
