The Bhawanipur Education Society College organised a “Faculty Mentoring Workshop” in collaboration with the Internal Quality assurance Cell (IQAC) of the College on student mentoring on December 27, 2021.
The workshop had two sessions, Batch-I: 10.00 am to 1.00 pm for Commerce (morning), Arts and MA section Batch-II: 3.00 pm to 6.00 pm for Science, Commerce (Afternoon and Evening), BBA, M. Com. Department of our College.
Both the sessions were inaugurated by Dr. Subhabrata Gangopadhyay, Teacher-In-Charge, The BES College, Kolkata and theme of the workshop was enlightened by Dr. Pinki Saha Sardar, Vice-Principal, Admin of the College. The moderators of the two sessions were Dr. Gargi Talapatra and Ms. Dyuti Chatterjee, respectively. The keynote Speaker of Batch-I was Dr. Tathagata Sen, IQAC Coordinator and Batch-II was Dr. Samir K. Datta, Dean of Science of the College. Our distinguished Speaker Ms. Salony Priya, Director of UMMEED Counselling & Consulting Services, Counselling Psychologist, HR Trainer & Educator enriched us with the beautiful and thorough discussions on mentoring and student psychology. It was illustrated that how to deal with different situations on the way of teaching and nourishing young minds, especially students. It was also elaborated how to fortify them from inside out and guide them for a better and prosperous future. All the Faculty Members really enjoyed the programme and learned a lot from the same.
The interactive sessions in the two batches were very interesting through the meticulous discussion. Valedictory session was conveyed by Dr. Souraja Tagore and Dr. Ivy Dasgupta for Batch-I and Batch-II respectively. At the end of both the session Mr. Dilip Shah, Dean of Student Affairs shared and discussed some valuable points on student mentoring. The number of faculty in the morning batch was 70 and the afternoon batch was 67 respectively. The filled-up feedback forms of the workshop were received from the participants and the workshop was indeed helpful to the Mentors to enrich their idea and deliver to their mentees.
