Scriptwriting, acting, dancing, singing all are a part of the same. On the 4th and 6th of December 2021, the Enact Collective of The Bhawanipur College hosted Theater auditions.
The in-person event took place in the Placement Hall from 10 am on the 4th and was judged by the representatives of the collective, namely, Prerana Mukherjee, Sarfaraz Hossain Khan and seniors Pratyush Prakash, Sahil Lakhmani and Huzaifa Bin Misbah. Prof. Dilip Shah and some of the faculty members came to be a part of the audition process to make the students more excited by supporting them.
Day 1 had the slot for 50 participants, and soon as the audition round was over a game was planned as well. Where the participants were teamed-up to act out a spontaneous role presented to them by the judges.
Day 2 followed the same pattern with 50 students’ slot. The audition was of two rounds, a solo act at first where each of the participants prepared a 4-5 mins solo act with monologues followed by round 2 which was improv acting (unplanned, spontaneous and unscripted performances) .
Each and every participant came with a lot of enthusiasm and talent in them which was clearly visible in their acts making it a very tough decision for the judges to select. The auditions came to an end with an interactive session between the seniors and juniors and giving them an idea about many more upcoming events and workshops for the acting zeal in them.
