Heroes do not always come with a cape to rescue the victim, sometimes they donate blood. A drop of blood has the power of saving one precious life. And when it comes to the cause of doing some social service the Bhawanipur Education Society College has never retreated. On 31st August, 2019 a Blood Donation Carnival was organised by the BESC in joint collaboration with the Project Life Force. Announcements regarding the event were made much ahead of the event.
As we all know blood can’t be manufactured, it can only come from healthy generous donors. Each and every member of the college along with outsiders attended the carnival that was flagged off at 9:00 am in the morning by President Sri Champakbhai Doshi, Sri Pradeepbhai Sheth, Ms Naliniben Parekh and other members of the management. Mr Pranab Bedi, Lakshmi Parakh (the head of the whole camp) and Mr Anurag Agarwal were felicitated by the Project Life Force. At around 10:30 am, all the dignitaries of Bhawanipur Education Society College along with Prof Dilip Shah illuminated the holy lamp and explained the importance of donating blood.
1 out of every 5 people refuses to donate blood thinking it to be fatal for them shoves a million to the brink of death. Mr Pranab Bedi not only explained the importance of donating blood but also ensured the blood collection procedure to be absolutely safe and secure. Valia Hall and Sports Arena were transformed into a medical unit. People in innumerable count showered in to donate blood. There were people for whom it was the very first time. At the end of the day the unit collected was 879 and 2637 lives were saved with this gracious endeavour.
Having considered the value of donating blood and the number of people coming together to extend their helping hands to save a life, BESC has taken a solemn pledge to organise such events at a regular basis.
